This is why we celebrate our veterans. Amazing people who sacrifice for a greater good.

Yes, I’m a vet. Yes, I’ve seen my share of horrors. No, I never saw anything like what this man saw in his life. If someone comes up to me and thanks me for my service, my reply is, “Thank you for being an American worth serving for.” I used to say this because I didn’t know what to say to people who thanked me; I was just doing my job. Now I say it because it’s true; people who recognize what freedom is and what it takes to secure that freedom from tyranny and evil will thank a vet. In my mind, I’m thankful for those people. They’re worth serving.
