I try not to be political with the blog, but something has been bothering me and I’d like to clear the air.

Some people are up in arms over the Texas abortion law that bans abortions after fetal heartbeats are found. Everyone is shouting things like “women’s rights” and “pro-choice”, and “it’s my body, it’s my choice”.

Those same people are backing Grandpa Joe’s tyrannical speech and plan to force-vaccinate 80 million Americans. When you use those people’s argument of, “it’s my body, it’s my choice”, they scoff in your general direction.

My question is…what’s the difference? If it’s your body, your choice when it comes to an abortion, then why do you support forcing people who had access to get the vaccine if they wanted it, but clearly chose not to get it? You can’t have it both ways; it’s hypocritical.

If you’re arguing that someone who isn’t vaccinated can infect someone who is vaccinated; yes, I suppose it’s possible. However, it’s more likely that someone that isn’t vaccinated will contract COVID-19 than someone who is vaccinated. A vaccinated individual who contracts COVID-19 is likely to have less deleterious effects of the virus than someone who isn’t vaccinated. It’s a lot to unpack, but that’s how vaccines work.

Personally, I’m happy that someone is standing up for the rights of the unborn child. After all, it’s their body, shouldn’t it be their choice?

There’s a lot more that I’d like to get into with this; my mind has been absorbing all things political lately, and I’m beginning to form ideas and opinions, but I think I’ll break it into bite-sized chunks for future posts.
