Busy, busy, busy

Busy, busy, busy

The new job has kept me busy the last four weeks. Yeah, that’s right, I’m already three and a half weeks in. This Friday will mark my one month anniversary with the company and my second payday.

I’m in California right now attending a confab of sorts. Its a bit of a boondoggle, but it’s still busy. Busy enough to keep me from seeing some of the sights. Well, that and the time change has messed with my internal clock. I wake up around 3:30 am and I’m ready for bed around 6:30 pm. It’s only a three day event, so it’s probably best to stay used to East coast time.

Today, I met my boss. Well, my direct boss. We took the team out for drinks after our day was over and it was nice to sit around swapping stories and getting to know our west coast team mates.

Tomorrow, we check out and head back to LA after work so we’re closer to the airport for our return trip home on Friday.

I snapped a few pictures today of the mountain range here. It’s pretty, but today has been the first day I was able to see the mountains clearly. There is some sort of marine interaction with the air coming off the mountains that makes it gloomy a lot of the time. I finally saw the mountains in the foreground today and realized there were mountains behind those that were twice as high. I could just make those mountains out with my polarized lenses today. I couldn’t see them without the sunglasses.

Hopefully, I’ll get to come back and help out on some other projects and I’ll be able to see more of the area. Since this was my first trip, I tagged along with someone who knows where they were going and didn’t get my own car. Next trip, I’ll have a bit more freedom and hopefully the time to see some more of the sights.
