Camping

Camping

We’re camping again! This time, we’re staying at the KOA on Cape Charles, VA. Besides a notable lack of trees, this is a nicer campsite than I could’ve imagined.

I’ve passed this place every week for five years straight and it always looked like an RV dumping ground. That was my perspective from driving north or south on route 13 on my way to Hampton Roads or Wallops Island.

Thank goodness I didn’t judge this book by the cover. The campsite is extremely well cared for and quiet. I woke up early this morning and made a cuppa tea. Then, I took it outside to enjoy the campsite as it woke up and came to life.

Northern Mockingbird saying good morning

I also got flown over by two F-22 Raptors on their way back to Langley. There has been a parade of people walking their dogs all morning. The breeze off the bay is glorious and the heat and humidity aren’t oppressive yet. It’s a really nice day and I’m looking forward to enjoying myself this week.

I’ll have more to tell you all later, for now, we’re going to move the shade house and picnic table, then take a bike ride and see what the rest of the camp looks like. Cheers!
