I cannot believe the weekend is over already. We did a lot and we took some time to chill out. It just seems like I’m getting into my groove when Sunday night rolls in and I have to get ready for the week ahead. Whoever came up with a five-day workweek and a two-day weekend sucks. We need at least a three-day weekend. I’d even bet on the fact that people would be more productive at work if there were only four days in a work week.
Friday was nutzo as usual. Sarah has to be at dance by five and is never ready on time so we’re not usually out the door until a quarter till. That puts her about five minutes late to dance and kisses her off. She’s never mad about being late for school though.
Adrianne and I checked out the Pocomoke city community center for the retirement roast. It looks like it’s going to work out. We’re waiting on the price quote to come in and if the price is nice, we’ll lock in a firm date.
Afterwards, we went over some paperwork for retirement. We still need to figure out how much taxes to have withheld from my pension and Adrianne has to have something notarized. All-in-all, things are wrapping up quite nicely. It’s only a matter of time before my whole lifestyle will change. I’m both nervous and excited.

Saturday, we did yard work all day. The lawn needed mowed and some leaves and sticks needed cleaned up out of the yard. My allergies were on fire the rest of the evening, but it looks so much better now that it’s done. The doggo managed to escape again to go over and say hi to the neighbors. I don’t know if I should be concerned that I don’t freak out anymore when she gets loose. She gets loose, we chase all over and make a lot of noise trying to get her back. Eventually, we get her back. I’m not certain that expending energy chasing after her helps on any way. We’re thinking about trying a GPS dog fence with her, but I’ve heard that Huskies are too stubborn to realize their being shocked when they go out of bounds. I need to do more research on that before I make a decision.

Sunday was all about taking it easy. I made a pot of tea and listened to music while doing chores around the house and lounging. I had to take Sarah to work. Adrianne picked her up. Adrianne made dinner, I cleaned up afterwards. We both folded our respective piles of laundry. It was a team effort; sharing the workload makes it nicer for both of us. Sarah’s boyfriend came over for dinner since she caught up on all her homework. She goes back to school tomorrow four days a week.
This week, I have my usual appointments and I’m headed to Annapolis, MD Tuesday for my retirement physical. Hopefully, I can get that knocked out of the way and behind me. As of tomorrow, I only have 77 days left in uniform. I’m still working with HELIOS when they need me. Right now we’re splitting each day into two shifts. Starting in May, three of us are taking a full day each. That should be less hectic.
That’s about it for now. I wish I had more time to write my stories down. There’s just never enough time to get everything done. Temple fugit.
