Yesterday, we went to the Jacksonville zoo with my sister and her kidders.

Normally, I hate zoos.

I don’t like seeing the animals in cramped quarters or subpar conditions. I want to run through the place opening all the cages and setting them free. There is nothing worse in my mind than seeing an apex predator shut up behind a cage being fed twice daily rather than being free.

Jacksonville has a surprisingly nice zoo

The Jacksonville zoo didn’t make me feel this way at all. The enclosures were well kept and spacious for all the animals. The animals looks well fed and cared for.

The animals were all out, visible, and moving around instead of hiding in corners

We even got to feed the giraffes! Lots of fun.
