Disney – day 3 Disney Springs aka Downtown Disney

Our last day in Orlando, we decided to do some shopping. I like to walk about the park and look at everything which gives me an idea of what I want to buy, which I save until the last day so I’m not lugging around a bunch of stuff.

We slept in late, got up, checked out of our room virtually. This was great. We never interacted with a member of the hotel staff. Love this new feature of traveling. After, we went to IHOP for breakfast and then over to Disney Springs for shopping.

Back in my day…Disney Springs used to be called Downtown Disney. But I guess whatever. It’s grown up so much since our last visit in 2004.

Of note, this is a Disney property, you don’t need reservations, but you will queue up for a temperature check and bag screening. You have to follow the Disney mask rules or be asked to leave, and you will queue up on those now all to familiar stickers on the floor.

We did some souvenir shopping at the Christmas shop, the Star Wars traders, World of Disney, among a few others.

I bought Sarah a Kylo Ren light saber because she thinks he’s the best. I bought a jacket for myself which came in handy after it chilled off and I also bought a Luke Skywalker light saber. (More on that in a future post).

We rounded the Disney part of our trip off with Dole Whips and then, back to the car. I played the role of pack mule which is expected of fathers/husbands on a shopping trip IMHO.

All in all, it was a great three days and we loved our experience. We got hangry once or twice when we forgot to eat because we were trying to see every little thing, but once we took a break, grabbed a drink or some food, we calmed down and started treating each other with love, respect, and dignity again. That’s my biggest piece of advice to anyone going in the parks. Take a break now and again. It does a world of good. Also, don’t forget why you’re there. You’re not there to antagonize one another.
