I always have little projects around the house to keep me busy. Sometimes my projects are bigger and take more time to see them to completion. One such project is my basic mobile workbench or BMW. I started on it back in January, then it got cold, and I was too much of a wimp to go in the garage due to the lack of heat.
One day, I finally got the gumption to get the 48x96x3/4 inch board I needed, then, I tried to cut it in the driveway when it was cold. I screwed up the measurements on the board and cut too quickly in an attempt to hurry up and get warm. That was a $33 dollar lesson-learned. Good thing I’d bought MDF instead of plywood. Plywood is a lot more expensive.
Then it rained, a lot. Like so much, I couldn’t even go up to Lowe’s for the board because I didn’t want it getting wet on the ride home. I feel like it rained for an entire month here. I was starting to feel like a mushroom. 😆
It seemed as though every time I tried to get this project restarted, something would prevent me from doing so. This past weekend, it was the truck battery dying.
Yesterday, I finally got the board, I put it in the garage and cut my first piece off of it this evening after work. I was going to do more, but, I had to stop what I was doing to help Adrianne. I’m not complaining, being married means putting the other person first and that’s exactly what I did. I saw to her needs first. I was going to go back to the garage, but I needed to pick up Sarah from dance so I left to get her. I’ll guess I was done with my bench for the night and at a logical place to conclude working on it for the night. I’ll get back to it again tomorrow after I bring the doggo home from the vet.
I’m looking forward to getting this done so I can get some of my tools up off the floor of the garage and onto a dedicated workbench. One step at a time, right?
