It has been one heckuva year. It was nice to have a day where things seemed almost normal. We weren’t able to visit with family in the normal sense, but we were able to video-call with family.
Before we opened our gifts, I looked at Adrianne and said, “There could be nothing for us to open this morning, and I’d be perfectly happy.” I meant every syllable of that statement. We were all together, we’re were al safe and warm and we’d just had our breakfast, so our bellies were full. That is, quite literally, all I’ll ever need for Christmas. It was a nice feeling when I realized it because I’d been feeling a bit down because of all the commercialism and consumerism I’d encountered in the days leading up to Christmas. In that one small moment of clarity, I knew what Christmas was all about and had everything I ever wanted or needed.
Merry Christmas all. I hope you all had wonderful days filled with peace and with loved ones.
